A Great Photograph

Photography has always been an escape for me. A place where I can fully appreciate the beauty of the world---sometimes in a way others may not.

I know people probably get tired of all the pictures I post to Facebook and Instagram (sorry), but photography is a part of who I am. My dad taught me and hopefully I will be able to teach my children in the future.

One of my favorite quotes about photography is from Ansel Adams. He said:

"A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed."

So hopefully you can get to know me a little more through some of my favorite pictures I have taken. :)

It All Starts Here

My first blog post. What to say, what to say!? I suppose an introductory would do. My name is Cortlee, but most people call me Cort. I've never liked the first day of school, how my name is never on the cool little keychains, and how I can never make the two "ee's" at the end of my name symmetrical . Yep, it's a rough life. However, my name is unique, and I like it that way. I'm a junior in high school, varsity volleyball player, and track runner. I love photography, art, and anything lemon flavored (lemon AND raspberry cupcakes are the bomb.com). I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (for more info visit mormon.org), and I love it. I'm the only girl in my family, with an older brother who is preparing to serve an LDS mission to Taiwan! I currently live in Utah, but spent 15 years of my life in Arizona....(who knew it could get so COLD just a state away?!). I'm a simple girl, who loves life and wants to find joy in everything I do and see. Those joys will be posted here, to be thankful for, reminisce, and maybe even brag about (a little). Life is good, and there are so many reasons to smile! So I will leave it at that. Now go out and do more of what makes you happy!
